Oil stains are one of the most common things people ask us about. A car that leaks a little, a truck parked for a few weeks, or a lawn mower left on the driveway can all leave dark spots that a regular rinse won't touch.
Why water alone doesn't work
Oil soaks into concrete and into the surface of pavers. Pressure washing on its own moves the dirt around the stain but usually leaves the dark mark behind, because the oil is in the surface, not on it.
How we do it
- Treat the stain first. We apply a cleaner made to break down oil before we wash.
- Clean the whole surface evenly. On flat concrete we use a surface cleaner, a spinning bar under a round hood, so the driveway comes out even, without stripes or wand marks.
- Set the pressure for the surface. Pavers, travertine and concrete each get the pressure they can take.
A real example
One of our customers, Betsy Guerra, had months of oil stains on her pavers from construction trucks. In her Google review: “Mikey applied the chemicals necessary to leave the driveway looking new!”
Very old or very deep stains can sometimes lighten a lot without disappearing completely. Text us a photo and we'll tell you honestly what to expect.
